APRIL
Hairstylist
April, also known as Apes, started doing hair professionally in 2014 after she graduated from Graham Webb Academy. She worked at a well known salon first as an assistant and then senior stylist for a total of 4 years. She grew up in Charlottesville, surrounded by family members that are hairstylists! She works with all types of hair. April opened a hair salon suite in Bethesda, MD in 2019 and 3 years later, she has now opened a multi-service hair salon in Alexandria, VA November 2021.
Areas of specialization: balayage, color, cutting, extensions, and styling.
DONNA
Hairstylist
Donna has always had a creative eye for colors and an unique style for braiding. She went to Paul Mitchell hair academy in Rockville, Maryland and then worked at a well-known high end coloring hair salon for 4 years. Donna has been a Senior Stylist with Miko since 2019 and is looking forward to building new relationships in our new location!
Areas of specializtion: balayage, color, extensions, fashion tones, and styling.
SKYLAR
Hairstylist
Skylar has always had an artistic side, whether it's taking AP Photo and Art in high school or doing her friends hair and makeup. It can range from a haircut, color, styling, or photography; She puts her all into it and loves every second. She's constantly challenging herself so she can provide her clients with cutting edge techniques. She has been nominated twice for the worlds largest hair show awards, BehindTheChair, published in BeautyLaunchpad magazine for Top 30 under 30, and is a brand ambassador for Leaf and Flower.
Areas of specialization: Vivids, fashion tones, pastels, balayage, blonding, color correction, long layers.
KAT
Hairstylist
Kat has been in the beauty industry for 10 years now. She specializes in hair coloring, curly hair cutting + styling, brow, and makeup artistry. Her goal is to make people feel and look beautiful, as themselves. Not try and make them up to be anyone different, but enhance what was always there. Kat loves doing that in many different ways: through hair, brows, makeup, and through simply connecting with people. She works with all textures and enjoys educating clients on how to take care of their hair. Growth is something she's always open to so hair education and continuing to stay connected in the beauty industry is something that is important to her.
Background Experience: Kat has worked with Davines, Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, Pravana, Redken, and Wella. She has trained under Bumble and Bumble, Kevin Murphy, and Redken and have done work for Nashville Fashion Week.
Areas of specialization: brow shaping, color, curly hair artistry, and highlighting.
AMANDA
Hairstylist and Barber
Amanda discovered her love for hair at a very young age. She has been in the industry for 12 years. She graduated from Paul Mitchell the School in Chicago. While there, she owned her studio as well as being a part of a popular barbershop. She was an educator for a well known company and taught at Cosmetology & Spa Academy.
She’s passionate about art and makes it her goal to be able to create on everyone. Finding inspiration everywhere is what she is most proud of, she believes when you walk through those doors or becomes your world.
